Untangling the Tangled Haemostatic Web: The Essence of VTE Risk Assessment and Evidence


Arjo, together with Dr. Joseph A. Caprini - Senior Clinician Educator at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago invites you to this educational webinar.

The focus of this lecture is the approach to the prevention of the number one preventable cause of death after surgery or hospitalization, fatal pulmonary embolism. This webinar will demonstrate there is extensive data to understand how to prevent these fatal events. 

The Caprini risk score will be described including its unique feature of combining the number and power of risk factors to yield a score. 

The mechanisms conducive to thrombosis development during the operative procedure will be described, as well as the importance of using intermittent pneumatic compression at that time.
