Loop comfort repositioning sling
The Loop comfort repositioning sling assists the caregiver to move or reposition the patient in bed including turning to and from the prone position, lateral transfer from one flat surface to another and lifting from the floor. The sling can also be used as bed linen and may be left under the patient between transfers (if clinical assessment allows).
Repositioning in bed has many clinical benefits:- Prevent tissue damage
- Improve ventilation, postural drainage, management of secretions
- Improve vital functions
- Facilitate muscle function, as well as stability and mobility
- Improve patient/residents of life, well-being and participation in functional rehabilitation activities.
Repositioning reduces the duration and magnitude of pressure over vulnerable areas of the body and contributes to the patient’s comfort, hygiene, dignity and functional ability.
This single-layer seamless product offers a combination of standard bed linen and a repositioning sling. There is no need to remove the sheet from under the patient as it can be left in place in line with independent testing on typically used surfaces. Transfers and repositioning are more efficient and require less effort for the caregiver resulting also in less discomfort for the patient.
The sling is intended for patients/residents who are highly or totally dependent and unable to contribute with their own transfer and repositioning. It can be used for lateral transfers, repositioning in bed, turning to and from prone position, applying/removing X-ray image plates and lifting from the floor.
Independent testing indicates that repositioning slings do not interfere with the performance of two typically used support surfaces. This can support clinical decision making when assessing the risk of leaving repositioning slings underneath patients for a period of time between transfers, promote efficient workflows and reduce the need for additional patient handling.
Color-coded strap indicators at the edge of the sheet show the size of the sheet and the location of the straps. All stitching is at the edge of the bed, ensuring a seam-free surface under the patient.
This sling should only be used together with Arjo passive lift systems (loop attachment) in accordance with the allowed combinations page in the Instruction for Use.
