Clip in situ sling - unpadded legs
The Clip in situ sling - unpadded legs is suitable for everyday patient handling activities, such as bed and chair-related transfers. It may be left under the patient between transfers (if clinical assessment allows).
Selecting the most appropriate sling is important to ensure that it is suitable for the patient/resident, for the type of transfer required and compatible with the lift being used. The use of patient/resident handling equipment such as mechanical lifts with the appropriate sling is a core component of safe patient handling programs. This sling is intended for assisted transfer of passive patients/residents with limited ability to move and require full support during transfer.
The sling is to be used with passive lifting devices to transfer patients in a seated/semi-reclined position to and from bed, chair, wheelchair or hygiene device during care activities and from the floor.
Independent testing indicated that the sling did not interfere with the performance of a typical seated support cushion. This can support clinical decision making when assessing the risk of leaving the sling underneath a patient for a period of time between transfers, which can promote efficient workflows and reduce the need for additional patient handling.
The clip slings are used in combination with DPS (Dynamic Positioning System) spreader bar, a system that allows the caregiver to position the resident or patient in the sling - from upright to reclined without needing to do so manually, helping to reduce physical caregiver effort.
This sling should only be used together with Arjo passive lift systems (clip attachment) in accordance with the allowed combinations page on the specified section of the Instructions for Use.
