Bariatric loop repositioning sling
The Bariatric loop repositioning sling assists the caregiver with in-bed repositioning and transferring plus-size patients in a supine position from one flat surface to another. The sling dimensions fit with the Arjo bariatric beds.
Caring for plus-size patients is a substantial and increasing challenge for today’s healthcare providers. This is especially so in the hospital environment, where the increasing population of larger patients places considerable pressure on available resources and the need for care to meet the unique needs of this patient population.Plus-size patients who cannot change position themselves need to be repositioned to avoid pressure injuries and for other activities of daily living. This requires significant physical effort from caregivers, which can lead to injury. Common repositioning activities could also contribute to pressure injury development due to the increased shear and friction exerted on the skin.
The repositioning sling is intended for assisted in-bed repositioning and lateral transfer of passive patients/residents. The sling is intended for lateral transfer of patients from one flat surface to another with an Arjo ceiling lift and repositioning in the bed with Arjo ceiling/passive floor lifts.
This sling should only be used together with Arjo passive lift systems (loop attachment) in accordance with the allowed combinations page on the specified section of the Instruction for Use.
