International Nurses Awareness Day | Patient-Centered Care in Pressure Injury Management

Patient-centred care in pressure injury management is a comprehensive and empathetic approach that prioritizes the individual needs and preferences of patients. The webinar will be addressing the key components of:

Risk Assessment and Prevention: Utilizing tools like the Braden Scale to assess risk and implementing preventive measures such as regular repositioning and use of pressure-relieving devices.

Personalized Care Plans: Developing tailored care plans based on the patient’s medical history, mobility, and personal preferences, and involving patients and their families in decision-making.

Education and Empowerment: Educating patients and caregivers about prevention and management, and providing resources to empower them in their care.

Holistic Approach: Addressing physical, emotional, social, and psychological aspects of pressure injuries, and offering support services like counselling.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration among healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and ensure consistent communication.

Continuous Monitoring and Adjustment: Regularly reviewing and adjusting care plans based on patient progress and feedback.

By focusing on these areas, you can create a well-rounded and effective approach to managing pressure injuries that prioritizes the patient’s overall well-being and quality of life.
